New rules for MS 150 bike ride

Registration for the 2008 MS 150 charity bike ride from Houston to Austin opens at 9 a.m. Monday. Consider this your one and only warning.
Register fast, because the ride can accommodate "only" 13,000 pedal pushers, and thousands of riders get shut out each year.
So click on www.ms150.org and sign up.
Last year, the ride raised $12.2 million for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. It's the biggest, richest, most fun two-day charity ride in the United States. The next departure is April 12-13.
The 2008 MS 150 will have four new safety rules:
1. Riders must be 10 years old by Jan. 1, 2009.
2. Bikes cannot be equipped with accessories for transporting children or pets. No carrier seats or trailers.
3. Riders are not allowed to transport animals.
4. You must ride a bike. No more Rollerbladers.

Wow - there goes the families that do the ride.
